Esquires Coffee

On my way home from college in what seemed like sub-zero temperatures. I decided the only way to warm up was to get a coffee. I saw this little cafe from a distance with its shimmering lights beaming from it during this bitter winter evening. As I approached the cafe I saw a sticker on the window saying 10% student discount. I Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the review or so I thought…

Presentation: Satisfying presentation I was fond of the leaf as I haven’t been given one of them for quite some time. I really liked the cup, spoon and plate. I thought that was something lots of cafes don’t put a lot of thought into these days. The blacks specs were enchanting to the eye. They were virtually like vanilla seeds that you find in vanilla ice cream.

Taste: Even though I asked for the smallest portion size I still feel it was a tiny bit too big as the milk tasted a bit watery just as it was in my review for Blas Cafe. The coffee was nice but was lacking strength. There was no kick in it. I believe its the type of coffee beans the cafe are using.

Price: The original price was €3.30 but I got it with student discount for €2.97 (10% discount). They had 3 portion sizes and I got the smallest which still seemed expensive for a coffee even with the student deal…

Rating: I’d gives this cappuccino a 6 out of 10. The weakness of the coffee really let me down and it and I feel like I was robbed of my €2.97. Expectations were high entering this cafe but when reality hit nothing but sadness filled my heart.

For an untrained coffee pallet this is the place to visit however if you’re reading this blog you probably have a trained coffee pallet because realistically the people who read coffee reviews are the people who are psychotic about their coffee. God knows what that means people who write them…
